Gloucester City Museum & Art gallery
The collections are housed on two floors in a Grade I listed Victorian building with stained glass windows and fine plasterwork ceiling on the first floor. Art and temporary exhibition galleries were added in the 1960's.
The Museum is fully registered with the Museums & Galleries Commission and is a Quality Assured Visitor Attraction.
The archaeology collections contain an impressive range of Roman sculpture, including votive tablets showing Roman gods, tombstones and an antefix decorated with a human face that may have come from the front of one of Gloucester's earliest theatres.
