Prints, florals, pastels, monochrome and a pop of colour are all key trends to look out for this spring/summer. Yellows, cobalt blues, corals and the snakeskin print effect in both clothing and accessories have been spotted all over the catwalks and now on the high street, these can be added to your wardrobe in the simplest of ways. Celebrities are representing the simple, chic and minimalistic look and this is easily re-created by teaming simple wardrobe pieces together, for example, a crisp white shirt, blazer, smart jeans, killer heels and beautiful accessories. Let the accessories do the outfit talking, they will polish off any look whether it be adding a stunning hat, oversized sunnies or a glamorous bag; this will instantly update your look during the day and/or night but also, you will be one seriously hot fashionista this spring.

Florals and prints are immense this spring/summer; think trousers, tops, skirts, dresses the list goes on! Adding prints and/or floral pieces to your wardrobe will instantly update your look and you will have a spring in your step. When choosing the perfect prints for your wardrobe consider your lifestyle, colouring and what works best for you; for example, do you wear trousers more than skirts or vice versa, this will help you to determine what will work best for you and how much wear you will get out of the garment in everyday life. Why not try this instant wardrobe update with a simple pair of printed trousers that can be dressed up or down with a simple tee/silk shirt, an oversized blazer and a statement necklace; simple, sophisticated perfection! If you are weary about prints and what works for you, why not instantly become a fashion trendsetter and add a cute silk printed scarf instead.

An effortless white shirt is a key wardrobe basic, it will never go out of fashion and it is an instant wardrobe piece that will add sophistication, glamour and pure minimalistic style. A classic piece will never date and it is worth investing the time and money in finding the perfect shirt for you. A classic shirt can be teamed under a dress, with a skirt and cute jumper or perhaps with a trouser suit… honestly we don’t realize how much we can rely on one vital wardrobe piece… I rely on mine at least three times a week!

The nautical look is effortless and elegant and in pure sailor style a jumper shown above is ideal for those all-important layers in the anticipation of summer. A nautical jumper is flattering and a goer for all events including those spring garden parties or perhaps lunch with the ladies! Team a similar jumper with jeans or cropped khakis for more of a casual look, and for a smarter look team it with a bright coloured coral skirt, shirt, ballet pumps and a stunning handbag. Adding a splash of vibrant colour is a great way to boost your confidence, self-esteem and overall mood… plus a pop of colour is a big trend this season!

On An Accessories Note….

Flat shoes are the “must-have” footwear this season however, we all love a classic heel or a comfy wedge and I came across these yellow patent wedges in Gloucester Quays from L K Bennett and I adore them! Yellow is a key spring/summer colour and with the cheerful, vibrant feel to them they definitely are a wardrobe must have. Bright coloured shoes are a perfect way to jazz up any outfit. With a printed trouser or skirt keep your shoes simple to create an elegant and chic look or if you want to make a statement add a colourful wedge or a fabulous heel and let it be the talking point. Striking heels and flats will add that wow factor to any outfit, whether it is teaming them with jeans, a skirt, a dress or that perfect summer floral jumpsuit.

Last but no means least… sunglasses! There are small ones, round ones, large ones, square ones… such a wide variety available, and I find it irresistible not to go in-store and try an array on! Sunglasses are a vital accessory for every woman’s wardrobe and will perfect every outfit. There are some fab bargains out there and a great pair will instantly add the glam factor for all occasions!

So what are you waiting for… why not go and have some fun finding the perfect pair for you, summer isn’t far away now!
