It’s now September, which means we’re slowly creeping into that time of year where we pack away the sunnies and shorts, and reach for the cosy comfies. But this year we can look forward to wrapping up in true British style thanks to a new visitor taking a front row seat at Gloucester Quays High Orchard Street, and we’re not the only ones that are getting a little bit excited!
The store is set to open this month and has Gloucestershire on the edge of its seat waiting for the brand’s newest location’s launch date. So, while you plan on how you will spend your money when it does arrive, here’s a little background on one of your favourite high-end British fashion brands.
Who is Jack Wills?
Well as a matter of fact, he’s a real person!
Founded in 1999 by Peter Williams and Robert Shaw, the first store, that doubled up as sleeping quarters for the co-founders, opened in Salcombe for a mere £40k. Peter’s grandfather, Jack Williams, was the inspiration behind the name of the fashion brand.
Eighteen years later, British heritage-inspired Jack Wills has around 90 stores worldwide from the US to Hong Kong. This year, the brand has expanded into Europe, with its first location in Germany and there are potentially another eleven European stores on the way.
