Gloucester Guildhall is situated in the heart of the city and offers an eclectic line-up of theatre performances and comedy nights, with a number of big name acts taking to the stage throughout the year.
The Big Laugh Café is particularly popular – Gloucestershire’s longest running monthly comedy club – bringing audiences three of the best stand-ups on the circuit, great food, a late bar and good music each month. Past performers have included Jimmy Carr, Michael McIntyre, Russell Howard and Catherine Tate.
Live bands who've appeared at the venue include Radiohead, Muse, Primal Scream, Lily Allen, The Maccabees, Kate Nash, Pete Doherty, Klaxons, The Feeling, Athlete and many more (the venue has a canny knack of catching the best bands early on their route to success).
Visitors will find both drama classes and workshops on offer, while Gloucester Guildhall also plays home to café-bar The Place, regular art exhibitions and a great arthouse cinema, housed in a sumptuous, oak-panelled Victorian council chamber.
