Gloucester Quays will provide places to visit, relax, socialise and spend quality leisure time. Gloucester Quays focuses on the waterfront, with many new activities to bring people closer to the waterside.
Waterfront cafés, bars and restaurants will bring a vibrant new buzz to the City with something for everyone-singles, couples and families alike and a new night time environment will be created with activities taking place long after dark.
Two new hotels will encourage visitors to stay longer and explore other parts of the City and beyond. A four star 80 bed hotel and budget hotel of more than 100 beds will ensure accommodation for business and leisure travelers alike.
The majority of the leisure facilities will be located in the historic Bakers Quay area of the City Centre, adjoining the Docks. Refurbishment of listed buildings will ensure that the character and historical appearance of the area is preserved.
There will be a rich mix of water based leisure and sporting activities including rowing, sailing and canoeing club activities and angling, boat hire and specialist craft related holidays.
There will also be a new water bus stopping at Gloucester Quays and the docks.
Back on land, a new health & fitness complex will complement outdoor leisure activities include walking, jogging and cycling, bird watching and photography along the new waterfront promenades.
