Travelling to Gloucester Quays Magical Christmas

As the Gloucester Quays Magical Christmas is set to be very popular, the roads around Gloucester Quays and the historic docks can get busy at times during the event (particularly from around 12noon – 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays, when the majority of visitors are arriving at and leaving the event). For a more pleasant visitor experience, and to reduce congestion on the roads close to the event, we recommend the following:

Park and Ride Service

Waterwells Park & Ride (GL2 2AB) is situated south of Gloucester, just off the A38 in Quedgeley, 1.8miles from M5 junction 12. This facility will be clearly signposted from junction 12 of the motorway.

Stagecoach service 66 provides the bus link into Gloucester City Centre, stopping at Gloucester Quays, a journey time of 21 minutes with a regular service. For Thurs, Fri and Sat bus times click here.

Extra services will be available on Sunday 20th November 2016 for the Victorian Christmas Market, with buses every 30 minutes as below:

Waterwells to Gloucester Quays: 0845, 0915, 0945, 1015, 1045, 1115, 1145, 1215, 1245, 1315, 1345, 1415, 1445, 1545, 1715

Gloucester Quays to Waterwells: 0920, 1050, 1150, 1220, 1250, 1320, 1350, 1420, 1450, 1520, 1550, 1620, 1650, 1720, 1750

Other Bus Routes

Gloucester is well served by a range of bus routes dropping in the city centre, a 5 - 10 minute walk from Gloucester Quays. Click here for details.

City Centre Car Parks

Gloucester Quays is likely to experience a high volume of traffic entering our main car park off St Ann Way, for this reason we suggest visitors also consider using city centre car parks or walking to the event where possible.

Many city centre car parks are a 5-10 minute walk from Gloucester Quays and the Historic Docks. The closest car parks to the event are Southgate Moorings, Ladybellegate Street and Longsmith Street. In addition Castlemeads and North Warehouse car parks will be open on Saturday and Sunday only).

On Foot

Gloucester Quays is a 5 - 10 minute walk from the city centre, alongside Gloucester Docks and the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. A location map will give you walking times to key locations. Gloucester Quays has two mobility scooters, they can be booked via our Customer Service Desk on 01452 338933 or cservices@peel.co.uk. Further mobility scooters are available from Gloucester Mobility on 01452 302871, located under 1km (12 minutes) from Gloucester Quays.

By Bike

Gloucester Quays is accessible by bike. Cycle parking is available in Llanthony Road, and to the left of the main car park entrance to the centre. Gloucester Cycle Map will provide you with the local cycle routes to Gloucester Quays. Click here for more info.

Sunday 10am - 5pm *To comply with the Sunday Trading Act larger stores will open from 11am – 5pm

RESTAURANTS

Ice Rink Ts & Cs


  1. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse admission to the ice rink and/or the venue and shall be entitled to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of all visitors.
  2. The Promoter shall be entitled to request visitors to leave the venue at any time. The Promoter shall be entitled to remove anyone from the venue who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol or who in the reasonable opinion of the Promoter is conducting themselves in a manner inappropriate to their continued attendance.
  3. Smoking, eating and drinking are not permitted within the ice rink or changing facilities.
  4. All tickets are issued subject to the rules and regulations of the venue.
  5. Tickets cannot be resold, exchanged, refunded or transferred. To do so or to alter or deface any ticket will render it void. It is the patron’s responsibility to check his or her tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
  6. The Promoter will not be responsible for any tickets which are lost or stolen.
  7. The ticket holder has a right only to a session of the value corresponding to that stated on the ticket.
  8. Each session is normally 50 minutes long. Ticket holders will not be permitted to continue skating once their allocated session is over.
  9. The Promoter reserves the right to close the ice rink if necessary and the Promoters decision is final.
  10. In the event any session is cancelled or curtailed, refunds will only be given if such cancellation or curtailment occurs after less than 30 minutes of skating time has taken place and there is no availability for any remaining valid alternative sessions.
  11. Participating in Ice skating carries an inherent risk, any participation is totally at the users own risk. Anyone with any medical conditions, serious previous injuries, recently broken bones, knee or joint problems, head injuries, pregnancy, mobility problems, or taking prescribed drugs should carefully consider whether it is safe for them to participant without endangering themselves or other participants whilst skating. The Promoter shall not be liable for any injury, loss or damage however caused.
  12. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any personal property left at the rink or in the lockers.
  13. Please note children under the age of three are not permitted on the ice, children 3 years and over but under 7 years old must be accompanied on the ice by a parent or guardian in the interests of safety. Children 7 years and over but under 10 years old may skate without a parent or guardian on the ice but must be supervised from the public viewing area.
  14. In the event of any conflict between these terms and conditions and the terms and conditions imposed by any ticket agency, these terms and conditions shall prevail.
