What to watch: top films out this Christmas
There’s nothing better than a good Christmas film, whether that’s on the telly or on a trip to the cinema. But if you’re feeling like an outing is in store, heading down to the flicks is a great Christmas treat, and with the fantastic range of films on this season there’s something to suit the whole family. Below we’ve put together our list of top films to see at the cinema this Christmas and New Year.

Top films to keep the children entertained:
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them If you’re a big Harry Potter fan then this is a must see this Christmas holiday. Follow Newt Scamander in an adventure across New York, featuring Nifflers and other cute and magical beasties.
Moana Disney comes back to the big screen with a bang in their new adventure Moana. 
The BFG Sophie, an orphan, is snatched away from her orphanage one morning by a giant that she names the BFG. She’s whisked away on a giant adventure to save sleeping children from a potentially dreadful fate. 

Top films for those big kids
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story For fans of the main movie series, this is a great top-up film if you’re waiting for next year’s installment. The story takes place shortly before events in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope; a rebel team led by Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) aims to steal the plans for the Death Star, the Empire’s newly developed super-weapon. Their mission is to find a weak spot in the Death Star and destroy it. 
Doctor Strange The newest installment in the Marvel Universe, Benedict Cumberbatch plays the brilliant yet arrogant neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange. Following a life-changing car crash, a series of events unfold that see Dr Strange come into unimaginable power and face the villainous Kaecilius who threatens the future of the world.
Assassin’s Creed Fans of the hugely successful games will be delighted to see Assassin’s Creed coming to the big screen this January. Starring Michael Fassbender in the lead role, Callum Lynch is saved from execution by a mysterious company and is forced to take part in the Animus Project.

Office Christmas Party With an all-star cast, Office Christmas Party is guaranteed to have you in stitches. When Clay’s (T.J.Miller) business is threatened by his sister, he decides that throwing the most epic Christmas party is the way to save the day.
Allied Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard star in this action thriller. Wrapped in mystery and intrigue, two spies are forced into a sham marriage to maintain their cover but as sparks begin to fly and real romance blossoms, is the marriage all that is seems? 
Sully: Miracle on the Hudson If you’re looking for something that will stir your emotions, this film is sure to be the one. Based on the true events of the emergency landing on the Hudson in 2009, Sully details the story of this miraculous event.
So what better excuse to get the popcorn in, kick back and enjoy a film with your friends and family.
